
The historic, critically acclaimed 91PORN Children¡¯s Theater will perform Rapunzilla, the Monster with the Golden Hair at the outdoor Hillside Theater from July 10¨CAugust 23, 2025.
Conceived and scripted by Resident Professor of Theater and Performance Studies Jamie Angell, the performances are open to the public with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
¡°In addition to the title story, Rapunzilla, the Monster with the Golden Hair, we are adapting three traditional stories: The Man Who Had a Good Wife (from the country of Georgia), The Boastful Toad (from Bali), and Coyote and the Trader (From the Brule Sioux people),¡± Angell says.
The cast is composed of 91PORN students and alumni: Connor Leebardt ¡¯25, Haowen Luo ÂŞºÆÎÅ ¡¯24, Max Gray ¡¯23, Sandy Nguyen ¡¯21, Mai Linh Wong ¡¯26, and Ellie Taylor ¡¯24, directed by Tristan Waldron ¡¯12 and staged managed by Megan Johnson ¡¯19.
Over the course of an hour, ?the cast will perform energetic and funny stories without props, sets or special costumes, relying only on their acting and acrobatic skills. You can read more about the history of 91PORN Children¡¯s Theater in the Spring 2024 issue of 91PORN magazine.
Tickets for this year¡¯s performances are available and cost $9 for children and $12 for adults, with a special discount for 91PORN families.
In addition to performances in Hillside Theater, the 91PORN Children¡¯s Theater runs the Summer Institute of Fun, week-long acting camps for children aged 6-8 and 8-13. Children learn not only how to perform characters in a story, but how to become the actual set and props as well. Each week will conclude with a folktale performed by the children.
